I believe being creative means being open to new experiences, new people and new things. You’ve got to love life so much that you can’t help but strive to bring a little more beauty to it. While it’s always a goal to put beautiful work out to enhance the world around us, it has to have a purpose. It has to be smart. The collective parts that make up the end product must work in unison to achieve a goal. As an Art Director, it is equally important to view life as a true artist, finding beauty where there is none and inspiration in curious places, as it is to practice pragmatism and have a somewhat analytic mind. It’s important to see both sides of any given situation and understand the significance of each. A great AD or Designer is able to bridge the gap between beautiful, smart design and the reality of client needs and wants.
